StarCraft is the long awaited war simulation from Blizzard Entertainment,
the makers of the mega blockbuster Warcraft 2. StarCraft promises to match
its popular predecesser and possibly even overtake it. StarCraft gives
the gamer a new perspective never before seen in war sims. You, as the
player, control one of three alien races: the Terran, the Protoss, and
the Zurg. It is your job to bring your race to supremicy.
What makes this different from a conventional War sim is that Its not
like sending out 5000 troops represented by one soldier Icon across a giant
map. It's also not like sending 5 grunts to take down an ogre in a bloody
romp. Instead, you are able to control many different kinds of spacecraft,
many of which can deploy smaller spacecraft and other things. It still
carries a similar interface like the extremely user friendly interface
in Warcraft2, but also adds remarkable graphics and a brand new perspective
to make this game like no other.
Starcraft Promises to deliver the great graphics and music in the tradition of previous Blizzard titles. One new element is battle.net. This new internet multiplayer program is going to come at no extra charge with StarCraft and Diablo (and hopefully all Blizzard titles to follow). I don't have the gorey details yet, as I am yet to gain access to battle.net, but you can be sure to hear all about it here when I do.
